Sur la littérature-monde

L’exigence narrative contemporaine est non pas celle du roman-monde, d’une World fiction, mais justement de la nécessité de mettre à bas la fausse perception d’une unité du monde. Donc, l’orientation n’est pas de passer de l’unité nationale à l’unité mondiale, mais de la certitude à l’incertain, du communautaire à l’angoisse fondatrice de l’individuation.

What is expected from narratives today is not a World-fiction, but the need to debunk the false perception of world unity. The orientation is not to go from national unity to world-unity, but to go from certitude to the uncertain, from the communitarian to the anxiety which feeds individuation.
