Prométhée littéraire

Que se passe-t-il si l’on considère le mythe de Prométhée à partir de la notion de « mythe interrompu » de Jean-Luc Nancy ? Si les mythes sont habituellement racontés autour du feu, ce mythe à propos du vol du feu expliquerait les origines de sa propre narration – n’expliquant rien d’autre que lui-même. Dès lors, comme Kafka le savait déjà, le mythe serait interrompu par la matérialité allégorique du roc sur lequel Prométhée est attaché, et autour duquel émergent de nouvelles conceptualisations de l’humain, de la communauté et du care.

What happens if we reconsider the myth of Prometheus from the perspective of Jean-Luc Nancy’s essay “Myth Interrupted” ? If myths are usually told around the fire, this myth about the stealing of the fire would explain the origins of its own telling : it would explain nothing but itself. At this point, as Franz Kafka already knew, the myth would be interrupted into the allegorical materiality of the rock to which Prometheus is tied, and around which new conceptualizations of the human, community, and care emerge.
